Treadmills make me fume. JUST KIDDING! But they're not so enjoyable to run on unless I'm listening to music with my favorite headphones of course, or if I'm listening to a great audio treadmill workout!
I am not a huge fan of running on the treadmill, so when I do, I need to find a way to keep myself motivated and make the workout FUN!
I've found myself the most engaged when I mix-in intervals and/or some HIIT bodyweight circuits into my treadmill workouts to be challenging yet doable and fun too! It's also super convenient to walk into a nearby gym and hop on a treadmill nearby! I also don't have to worry about the black ice we're faced with while running outdoors in NYC, too.
Throughout the last two years while fine-tuning my cross-training method, I've come to realize that cross-training compliments my running extremely well. It's great for conditioning, it's great for battling ambivalence, and it's excellent for being able to better handle change, even when you least expect it!

Build-Your-Base 30 Minute Workout Challenge
Performing this 30-minute treadmill workout, you’ll work your heart rate while working on running at different efforts and steadily increasing the duration of your run! If you are using an app like Strava, Fitbit, or Garmin Connect, all of which are top-rated apps to use amongst runners, you can share your challenge with your friends on all three apps. You can also hold yourself and others accountable while doing so, too! Please be sure to tailor the workout to your fitness level. Adjust the speed and incline up or down as needed. You know your body best! My expert advice to you is not to push anything you're second-guessing. Falling off of a treadmill is no fun. Take the advice from me, who's, unfortunately, had to experience this first hand! Let's make this an injury-free zone! Thirty minutes of your life is an efficient amount of time to get your training done. Let's do it! Be sure to time-block the time for you to do it in your calendar for your 2-3 times a week friendly reminder before the workday gets the best of you!

The more you do these quick workouts on a consistent, structured schedule, the better and stronger runner you'll become! Try out my 25-minute audio treadmill workout and work up your sweat. Perform either this audio workout, or the endurance workout this week for 2-3 times. For next week, switch it up and perform the other workout for 2-3 times/week! You can perform both audio workouts while you're at home, or while you're at your local gym!
